In my older version, any screen clipping used to paste into OneNote with the web location it was copied from. I can’t find the option to turn that on in 2010? Its just telling me when it was clipped.

This is unfortunately not built in to OneNote, as far as I can tell. It’s a frustrating omission.

To be useful I need OneNote for my iPhone. Have tried windows mobile and will never go back to it. However have just purchased full version of MS Office so all my email, contacts, and calendar are in one place and with some effort got it all syncing nicely to iPhone. Only problem now in OneNote! I shouldn’t have to use EverNote, please give your customers what they want…your great applications on the platforms we use ! Here’s hoping.

This only seems top work on the pages in one section of the workbook. I want to print every page in the workbook. Please tell me how.

Has anyone tried to crop the image in a one note page. As i am creating a process, the image that i initially saved needs to be cropped. do not see that option as part of the commands for the ribbon.

I’m using OneNote to write code samples as a design my new language, and I make heavy use of colors for different keywords, etc. I often change my mind on which color to use for different classifications, and I’d love it if I changed a shared font style and all my code across a notebook would be updated at the same time. Currently, I spend a lot of time with the Format Painter.

The built-in styles are very good, but it would be great to add custom styles, use them in various places, and then update the styles centrally.

We have our own templates I’d like to add onto new pages, but when I hit the Templates menu from the New Page Menu, there is no option to choose from My Templates. How can I add our own templates to my new Notebook page?

Go to the menu bar of IE8 that is at the same level as all of your tabs (where you would expect to find “Send To Onenote”) find the “>>” button.

Click this and you should find “Send To OneNote”

To have it show up on your Toolbar: Tools -> Toolbars -> Customize -> Either grab “Send To OneNote” and drag it up to the top OR select it and click on the “Move Up” button.

Select all the pages in your Notebook. You can do this by 1. click the top Page in your Notebook
2. while holding shift key click the bottom Page
3. click “File” from the main menu
4. click/select print options as you would like

Yes, search capability is a strength of OneNote. If you want to search pictures/images you need to make the searchable by right clicking and selecting the “make searchable” option.

Not a link. But you can link the Excel spreadsheet itself, or place a copy of it in a page.

Another thing that you can do is to copy all the cells from your spreadsheet and paste them into OneNote. A OneNote table will automatically be created. Obviously, it doesn’t have a live link into Excel so you won’t have Excel funtionality.

You have to set reminders indirectly through Outlook.

To do this: Right Click, Select the little red flag in the upper right, then set a task, you can set a reminder in the Outlook task.

Are you talking about other applications printing into OneNote first?

If so, select “File” -> “Print” -> Change “Name” to your printer instead of “Send to OneNote”

Maybe it is a problem with the beta version. When I search using the “search all notebooks” box in the upper right corner, I get results for both the literal string (top hits) and for the individual words.

Yes, to a certain extent.

Select the object, right click, select “copy text from picture”, paste where you would like. You can even keep most of the source formatting.

I just bought this program from Best Buy because I was looking for an OCR program and he told me this program had one in it.

I cannot find it. Does it have an OCR as part of One note 2010?

I know the beta is over but I’m constantly frustrated that I can’t search for a literal string. For example, I want to search for “Microsoft Outlook”. I get lots of entries that Microsoft and Outlook (too many to go through). Then the navigation through these is painful and error prone.

What must I do to have OneNote search for the exact string I type?

I was attempting to print something and now it sends everything into OneNote. However, the printing is off. How do I get it to print straight to my printer instead of going through OneNote first. I do not like being forced to go through another program.

Hi, i use a OneNote2010 Version from our MSDNAA site in school. But i get the same error like its mentioned here: “When I try to share a notebook in a Web location, I get the error message “This service is currently not available.” What’s wrong?” Will the MSDNAA sites get an update to fix this? Or is this another new Problem?

I have serious troubles when i try add voice message in One note 2010:
1- The record start but I don’t receive a box to stop.
2- When I cancel the record I can´t head my voice despite the player show time record.
Note that I use the video to add messages and do not have any problem, so there are a problem with recorder of voice messages. Please help-me.

When I print to (send to) OneNote 2010 as I used to do with 2007 I get the error message “OneNote cannot find a page on which to insert your printout. Navigate to a page in your notebook and then try again.” So I open a blank page in my notebook and try again and get the same message. What am I doing wrong?

In the drawing tools it would be useful if one had the option to attach the lines to the objects, so that objects can be moved around with the lines attached. This would be useful when sketching relational and component interaction models, etc.

I am trying to find the feature that in 2010 for screen clipping options. It doesnt seem to be there. I want to be able to take a screen clipping and have it appear on the same page as the previous clipping and not have it placed on another page and then having to cut and paste later.

Use OneNote 2007 all the time. I use Send to One from Word 2007 and other programs, but can’t seem to find the mechanism to “Send to OneNote” either in a dropdown menu or an Icon button on a Ribbon in 2010 version.
Is it there yet?
